Starting 1st April, 2025, this program is no longer available.
- 51 hours behind the wheel
- 21.5 hours in yard training
- 40.5 hours in classroom instruction
- 6.5 hours air brake classroom instruction
MELT E&E
- 22.5 hours behind the wheel
- 6.5 hours in yard training
- 11 hours in classroom training
- 6.5 hours air brake classroom instruction
- On completion, you will receive your Restricted Class 1 Drivers License.
Effective April 1, 2025, the Ministry of Transportation, Alberta has officially discontinued the Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) Program.
